Which external solvers (versions) are supported by the Unit Commitment Interface?
The Unit Commitment and Dispatch Optimisation module was introduced in PowerFactory version 2019 with an interface for external (commercial) linear programming solver. The solvers GUROBI and IBM CPLEX are directly supported and can be linked to PowerFactory. The usage of external solvers, besides the build in solvers, requires an additional PowerFactory license module called “Unit Commitment and Dispatch Optimisation Interface”. The “Unit Commitment and Dispatch Optimisation Interface” licence also allows the export of the MILP problem as an AMPL-file (.nl) so that the file can be solved by a user specific solver.
The currently supported version of GUROBI and IBM CPLEX are:
From PowerFactory 2019:
- GUROBI 8.0.x and 8.1.x
- IMB CPLEX 12.8
From PowerFactory 2019 SP5:
- GUROBI 8.0.x ,8.1.x and 9.0.x
- IMB CPLEX 12.8
From PowerFactory 2020 SP6:
- GUROBI 8.0.x and 8.1.x
- IMB CPLEX 12.8, 12.9 and 12.10
From PowerFactory 2020:
- GUROBI 8.0.x ,8.1.x and 9.0.x
- IMB CPLEX 12.8
From PowerFactory 2020 SP2:
- GUROBI 8.0.x ,8.1.x and 9.0.x
