When do I have to activate the option "Consider Current Displacement" for the DFIG?

Answer

The consideration of current displacement effects is only important if the complete speed-torque range of an induction machine is of interest, which is usually the case if a motor start-up is simulated. Doubly-fed induction machines (DFIG) do not have considerable current displacement effects (no deep-bar rotor), so a simple, single-cage model is usually sufficient.
