DIgSILENT GmbH is an independent software and consulting company in the field of electrical power systems. As a global player with the benefits of a medium-sized company, we are represented by branch offices in 8 countries. Our PowerFactory power system analysis software is one of the internationally most frequently used applications for the planning and operation of power systems of the future. In addition to our products, our service portfolio includes technology and feasibility studies, planning services, system optimisation, troubleshooting and expertises.

Our fields of work
Electrical engineers are employed as application developers or as application engineers. In development, they assume modelling tasks and implement applications for the power system analysis software. In addition to further development and maintenance of various calculation methods, they provide independent contributions to the entire development process and assist the application engineers in customer support. As application engineers, they are responsible for the complete technical support and consulting of software users, carry out studies and training courses, develop simulation models and support the software specification and documentation process.
Engineers/measurement technicians are responsible in connection with one of our products for the management, planning and execution of projects for the metrological verification of grid connection rules and for the execution and coordination of measurements on power generating stations.
Computer scientists/mathematicians or physicists play an active role in the development process of the software products, implement simulation and calculation processes by means of state-of-the-art algorithms and optimisation methods, expand and maintain the products in the areas of data management/modelling, GUI, graphic visualisation or automation, among others. Other fields of application include the design and optimisation of the data model as well as the maintenance and optimisation of interfaces to database systems and other software products.
All our employees receive unlimited contracts of employment after a 6-month probation period.
30 days annual holiday entitlement. We grant extra leave for special occasions such as weddings or moving house.
All our employees receive a fair salary with an annual pay rise.
All employees share in the company’s success and receive an annual bonus in addition to their salaries.
Employees with long years of service receive additional bonuses every 5 years.
Our core time is from 9 to 12 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. We grant up to three flexi-days per month and a monthly carry-over of +/- 25 hours.

Individual further training measures are available to our employees. DIgSILENT takes over the costs for further training courses/conferences for up to three days per year.
