    The seminar introduces the participant to the tools and techniques commonly used in practice for stability studies. Single-machine and Multi-machine power systems are studied, using steady state, time-domain and frequency-domain techniques.

    Dynamic Modelling (DSL) Workshop (S2017.0330.GO)

    The two-day workshop "Dynamic Modelling" complements the DIgSILENT seminar "Power System Stability". The whole procedure of translating a physical system into a set of mathematical equations and implementing it using the PowerFactory simulation language DSL (DIgSILENT Simulation Language) will be introduced and practiced.

    Harmonics Analysis with PowerFactory (S2017.0424.GO)

    The course gives an overview of simulation techniques in DIgSILENT PowerFactory for the assessment of power quality with an emphasis on harmonics distortion and reviews recommended practice for harmonic mitigation in power systems. Special attention is drawn to the power quality characteristics of converter-connected generation, such as wind or solar generation and the assessment of harmonic emissions acc. to IEC standards.

    Electromagnetic Transient Analysis with PowerFactory (S2017.0426.GO)

    The course gives an overview of electromagnetic transients in power systems and the siulation techniques available in DIgSILENT PowerFactory for their assessment. As such, it provides the participant with the necessary background to understand complex transient mechanisms in the power systems while emphasising the models required for EMT-type simulations.

    HVDC and FACTS (S2017.0509.GO)

    The training course gives an overview on High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission and Flexible AC Systems (FACTS). Line-commutated converters (LCCs), modular multi-level converters (MMCs), static VAR compensators (SVCs), STATCOMS, thyristor-controlled capacitors (TCSCs) and unified power flow controllers (UPFCs) are addressed.
